The Buccaneers have tied Castlebar at the top of the Junior League Division 1 after a comprehensive 36-5 victory away in Ballina. This result leaves both teams level on 22 points. They will be joined in the four-way play-off by Gort who won 9-7 away to Corinthians, while Sligo had an important win at home to Corrib 19-3. In Division 2 Loughrea went back to the top of the table with an impressive win 20-7 away to Ballinrobe, courtesy of 2 converted tries and a 2 penalties. However the re-arranged Buccaneers v Galwegians game did not take place, so the unbeaten Wegians have two games in hand. In the U-20 Cup Galwegians had a comfortable 27-11 win away to Monivea, running in five tries in all. |
