On the domestic front the Connacht Senior Cup Final takes place this weekend. Galwegians play Buccaneers in a game that will also decide the Connacht Senior League for the season. This game will kick off at 6:00pm in Galway Sportsground. It is sure to be a keenly contested game and while Galwegians will have the favourites tag Bucc’s will be anxious to atone for last season’s loss in the Cup final. There is a full round of “Rugby Active” sponsored Connacht Junior Cup games on Sunday. On current form Gort, Castlebar, Creggs, Buccaneers, Galwegians, Ballina, Corrib and Westport will be favourites to go through to the quarterfinals, but one can bet there will be a couple of upsets along the way. The semi finals of the Connacht under 20 cup see Galwegians travel to Westport and Corinthians travel to play Buccaneers. |
