The Statoil Connacht Schools Junior Cup final between Marist College Athlone and Sligo Grammar School takes place this Thursday in the Galway Sportsground at 4 p.m. Sligo Grammar won a dramatic semi-final last Monday when a last-gasp try from flanker Gerald McIntyre levelled matters against Portumna. And Sligo’s David Draper broke Portumna’s hearts when he coolly slotted the winning conversion for a 15-13 win. Sligo Grammar will start as favourites to win this game, but Marist have come quietly through their side of the draw and may yet spring a surprise. |
