In the ‘Rugby Active’ Connacht Junior Cup, Buccaneers completed the semi-final line-up when they overcame Westport in Carrowholly by 25-15. The home side had hoped to make up for the disappointment of the AIL Qualifiers with a win to earn a place in the last four. But they were repelled by a very strong Buccs junior outfit, who had an exceptionally strong pack inspired by former Irish A prop Jimmy Screene. Buccs now travel to play Corrib in the semi-final at Headford on Bank Holiday Saturday (3pm kici-off). The winners of that game will play the winners of the other semi-final which will see Creggs host Corinthians at the Green on Sunday May 5th (also a 3pm kick-off). |
