Some Background on Connacht Rugby

• Connacht Rugby incorporates the counties of Galway, Mayo, Roscommon, Sligo and Westmeath and parts of Offaly.
• This large geographical spread includes four Senior Rugby Clubs participating in AIL fixtures in the 1^st , 2^nd and 3^rd divisions as well as 19 qualifying Junior League Clubs.
• Seven new clubs have opened in Connacht since 2001 showing a progressive growth in the region.
• Registration of players in the Connacht Region is between 5000 and 6000 players in addition to committee members and other volunteers involved in all clubs.
• Connacht Rugby has an extensive Youth Development Programme
• All of the above support the Connacht professional team and are supported financially by the Connacht Branch.
