Connacht 30 Connacht got their European Challenge Cup campaign off to a flying start in the south of France on Friday night. This latest win on French soil gives Connacht a great platform to build on with London Irish visiting the Sportsground next Friday. Connacht trailed 12-7 at the break but then produced a stunning second-half display at Stade Maurice Boyau. A try after 15 minutes from skipper John Muldoon gave them a great start before Dax hit back for a brace of tries from Laurent Diaz and Bruno Hiriart. Connacht took control after the restart and hit the front when Gavin Duffy broke to send Johnny O'Connor over. Ian Keatley was in superb kicking form, landing six from eight kicks as Dax were put to the sword. The out-half converted O'Connor's try after moments earlier landing a penalty. And he put further daylight between the sides with two more penalties. The rout was completed in the dying moments when Ray Ofisa got Connacht's third try.
