  Gerry Kelly, CEO Connacht Rugby, Mick Grealish, President of Connacht Rugby, John Lyons, President of the IRFU (who performed the official opening) and Padraig Conneelly, Mayor of Galway at the official opening of the new Connacht Rugby gym. Connacht Rugby's new gymnasium was officially opened on Sunday evening. This new facility will be of great use to all Connacht squads through U16/U17, Schools, Youths, U19, U20, Junior, Academy and Senior Squad. The facility was financed by a Capital Grant from the Department of Sports/Art and Tourism, a loan from the IRFU and Connacht Branch funds. The levy of €5 on entrance to Connacht games will be used to furnish the loan repayments. The equipment is of the highest quality and was generously sponsored by Elverys/Rugbytech. Speaking at the opening were Mayor of Galway Padraig Conneely, President of the Connacht Branch Mick Grealish, the President of the IRFU Mr John Lyons (who performed the official opening), Frank Fahy TD and Gerry Kelly CEO Connacht Rugby. The gym will also be used by Irish squads and will be available for use by clubs in the region inclusive of all sports.
