![]() Connacht 49 Dax 3 Connacht cruised into the quarter-finals of the European Challenge Cup with a seven-try demolition of Dax at the Sportsground on Friday night. Connacht led 23-3 at the interval with Fionn Carr crossing for the opening try after just four minutes. Gavin Duffy added the second and Liam Bibo went over for his first try for Connacht as they built up a big interval lead. Dax enjoyed their best spell after the restart but could not add to Maxime Petitjean’s earlier penalty, and Connacht pulled further ahead when Carr got his second try. Niva Ta’auso also got his first try for Connacht and after Sean Cronin touched down, Ta’auso added his second and Connacht’s seventh try in the closing stages of a one-sided game. Connacht are now through to the quarter finals in April where they'll face Northampton. |
