Connacht's Kieran Campbell will captain the Irish Sevens side in the World Cup in Dubai in March. Coach Jon Skurr has named a twelve man squad for the event. The squad contains a number of players who helped Ireland to qualification last summer including Campbell, James Coughlan and Brian Tuohy. Former U20 Grand Slam winger Felix Jones, Ulster scrum-half Paul Marshall and Connacht’s Danny Riordan are also named in the squad which will be captained by Campbell. Ireland qualified for the finals, which take place in Dubai from March 5th to March 7th, by dint of their performances in the qualifying tournaments in Poland and Denmark last summer. Ireland have been drawn in a tough group for the RWC 7s alongside Australia, Samoa and noted 7s exponents Portugal. Ireland will open their RWC 7s campaign against Samoa on Thursday March 5th, with games against Australia and Portugal the following day.
