Cardiff Blues 19 Connacht suffered a late defeat at the Sportsground on Friday night as Cardiff scored ten points in stoppage time. Connacht seemed poised for a deserved victory when they led 14-0 at the interval thanks to a try from Ray Ofisa and three penalties from Ian Keatley. Two Ben Blair penalties closed the margin in the third quarter but Connacht still led 14-6 with eight minutes remaining when Blair reduced the margin to a try with another penalty. Connacht held firm in the closing minutes and had opportunities to seal the issue but then Robin Sowden-Taylor broke through in the seventh minute of stoppage time to level the match. Blair added the points to put Cardiff ahead for the first time in the game and he added a penalty shortly afterwards.
