Munster 35 Connacht 3
Connacht ended 2009 on a disappointing note when they went down to Munster at Thomond Park on Saturday night. Connacht trailed by 20-3 at half-time with Ian Keatley responding with a penalty to Munster tries from Ian Dowling and Damian Varley. Connacht defended well in the second-half but Munster secured a bonus point in the closing stages with tries from Paul Warwick and Jean de Villiers. Connacht will now turn their attention to the visit of Heineken Cup champions Leinster to the Sportsground next Saturday afternoon.
