Connacht Rugby Stars Tog Out for Calendar in aid of COPE Galway Connacht Rugby today launched their first team calendar and all proceeds from the calendar will go to support the work of COPE Galway. The calendar is the brain child of Clare O’Regan of CORE photography a long term supporter of COPE Galway and Connacht Rugby. Clare approached Connacht Rugby with her idea and offered her photography services for free. The Connacht team was immediately on board and Clare spent two days taking the photographs of the lads. The  resulting calendar will be launched on Tuesday Nov 9th at 9.30 pm in Massiomo, Sea Rd. following Connacht’s home International game against Samoa (KO 7:05pm).The calendar features members of the team in group and individual photographs and all the shots were taken at the Sportsground. “We are delighted with the finished calendar” said Fiona Keys of Connacht Rugby, “Rugby is a very physical sport and as a result the players are very strong and powerful which is what we wanted to portray in the calendar. The calendar will appeal to fans of rugby and rugby players.” Fintan Maher of COPE Galway said “We want to thank the Connacht Rugby squad for agreeing to participate and to thank Clare for putting the whole project together. Her enthusiasm from the outset was infectious and the quality of the finished calendar is a testament to all Clare’s hard work.” The Calendar is available from Elvery’s Sports shops, Connacht Rugby Branch office, Connacht Rugby home matches, COPE Galway website and directly from COPE Galway. All proceeds raised from the calendar will be used directly by COPE Galway in its services for homeless men and women, women and children who experience domestic violence and older people who live in isolation in Galway.
