The Irish Independent's Hugh Farrelly has named his Overseas XV, a collection of the best overseas talent plying their trade in Ireland at the moment and Connacht are well represented. Longserving clubmen Ray Ofisa and Michael Swift, along with Niva Ta'auso all made the cut.Ofisa joined Connacht in 2006 and the 30 year old Samoan flanker has ammassed 80 caps in that period. Swift, a 33 year old lock from London, is Connacht's highest capped player of all time with 187 appearances for the province and no sign of slowing down just yet. Niva Ta'auso, who hails from Samoa, joined Connacht in 2008. The former Junior All Black signed from Super 14 side the Highlanders and has played for Connacht 38 times in the last 2 years.
