Connacht Rugby will be holding open training sessions at Sligo RFC this coming Sunday and Monday as Eric Elwood prepares his squad for the upcoming season.

IMG_0937The overnight trip, which will include training sessions on Sunday afternoon (3.00-4.00pm) and Monday lunch (11.30am-1.00pm), is reminiscent of the successful preseason training in the Aran Islands last season.

This training camp is part of Connacht Rugby’s commitment to bringing the professional team to all parts of the Province and with Sligo RFC being the most Northerly club in Connacht it is the ideal choice. Added to the fact that the club have recently won promotion to the Ulster Bank All Ireland League gives this trip extra significance.

The home of rugby in Sligo, Hamilton Park in Strandhill will throw open its doors on Sunday with a family day which will include bouncy castles, facepainting and a bbq ahead of the Connacht team arriving at 3.00pm. There will be autograph and photo opportunities after the session from 4.00pm onwards.
