Connacht went down to a disappointing 22-10 defeat at the Liberty Stadium despite enjoying huge chunks of possession.
Connacht recovered from a poor start with an Ian Keatley penalty reducing the margin to 7-3 but Ospreys finished the half strongly and got a second try to lead 15-3 at the break.
Connacht enjoyed the bulk of the possession after the restart but could not turn it into scores and Ospreys pulled further ahead with a try from Jonny Vaughton.
Troy Nathan pulled back a try late in the game for Connacht, which was converted by Andy Dunne, but they were unable to salvage a bonus point.
