Unchanged team to play Worcester

The Connacht team to play Worcester Warriors in the Amlin Challenge Cup at the Sportsground on Friday evening (7pm) has been announced.
The starting fifteen is the same as that which defeated Worcester Warriors 26-21 at Sixways last weekend.
There are two changes among the replacements with hooker Adrian Flavin returning in place of Dermot Murphy and scrum-half Kieran Campbell replacing the injured Conor O’Loughlin.

The Connacht squad to play Worcester at the Sportsground on Friday evening (7pm) in the Amlin Challenge Cup shows two changes from that which did duty at Sixways last weekend.
Kieran Campbell comes in for the injured Conor O’Loughlin while Adrian Flavin, who was forced to withdraw from the selected squad last weekend, returns in place of Dermot Murphy.

Swift sets new record

Michael Swift set a new appearance record for Connacht when he was introduced against Worcester on Saturday.
The 32-year old equalled Eric Elwood’s 161 appearances against Cardiff a week earlier and on Saturday he became the most capped player in Connacht history.
Swift, now in his tenth season at the Sportsground, is the longest serving player in the squad and looks set to build on his 162 appearances in the coming weeks during the busiest period of the season for Connacht.

Connacht maintained their 100% record in the Amlin Challenge Cup with a deserved victory at Sixways on Saturday.
Connacht scored three tries to two for Worcester to make it three wins from three in the competition this season.
Connacht led 16-13 at the break after Ian Keatley and Fionn Carr crossed for tries in response to one fromTom Wood for Worcester.
Worcester levelled shortly after the restart but Connacht defended well and took the game to Worcester with Sean Cronin getting in for a try 17 minutes from time.
Ian Keatley added the conversion for Connacht to lead 23-16 in the final quarter.
Worcester hit back and reduced the deficit with a try from Wille Walker to reduce the deficit to two points.
But Connacht finished strongly and victory was sealed when Keatley landed his third penalty of the game with the last kick of the match.
