It was never going to be an easy task playing in sub-zero temperatures over 6, 000km from home but Connacht got their 2015/16 Challenge Cup campaign off to a flying start with a bonus point win over Russian side Enisei-STM in Krasnoyarsk today.

Temperatures reached as low as – 27 degrees Celsius in the Siberian city but the game at Central Stadium went ahead at 3pm local time.

On his first start for Connacht, USA international outhalf AJ MacGinty kicked three penalties in the first half while second half tries were scored by Niyi Adeolokun, John Muldoon, Darragh Leader and Rory Parata. Full back Darragh Leader kicked the 77th minute conversion.
