After one of their most successful starts to a Magners League season in recent years, Connacht Rugby have announced a new “Go Green for Connacht” competition for businesses in the province. A similar project was launched last year to coincide with the Amlin Challenge Cup semi-final game against Toulon. On that occasion Helen Walsh Opticians in Galway was the winning premises and received the prize of six hospitality packages for the Toulon game. This time Connacht Rugby is offering the winning premises 10 tickets to bring their staff members to the local derby clash against 2009 Heineken Cup champions Leinster on Saturday October 23rd at 6.05pm, as well as a post-match reception with the Connacht team in the Carlton Hotel. Judges will be looking for originality and overall ‘greenness’ in design. The winner will be announced on Friday 22nd of October, the day before the game. Entrants are asked to email a picture of their dressed premises to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it before Thursday October 21st. This competition is open to any business in the whole province. Remember Connacht is Your Province, Your Team.

Be the first to own this season’s replica jersey this weekend

Connacht Rugby are delighted to announce the launch of the 2010/11 Replica Jersey at the Connacht versus Ulster Magners League game this Saturday. The hotly anticipated replica of Connachts playing strip from RugbyTech will be available from the Elverys point of sale inside the Sportsground this Saturday but won’t make an appearance in shops until October the 9th. Supporters can purchase a number of exclusive items at the Elverys Kiosk in the Sportsground on matchdays but the replica jersey has been a noticeable absentee as issues with supply stalled delivery so demand is expected to be high for this coveted piece of kit.
