Connacht Rugby are delighted to announce the launch of their 16th Man Campaign which consists of a series of events to acknowledge the loyal support and faith shown by the supporters over the past few months. The campaign, which kicks off on Monday 6th February and concludes with a Supporters Day at The Sportsground on the 12th February, has been designed to bring our fans even closer to the heart of Connacht Rugby ahead of the two home clashes with Glasgow and Edinburgh in late February.
Between 11.00am and 1.00pm on Sunday 12th February Connacht Rugby will throw opens its' doors for supporters to come and take a look behind the scenes at The Sportsground.
There will be guided tours of the changing rooms and the training facilities including the state of the art gym along with talks from Connacht Rugby's Nutritionist Ruth Kilcawley and Physiotherapist Keith Fox.
Supporters will have the opportunity to have their photographs taken with Championship trophies as well as take a tour of the famous Connacht Bus. There will be a player signing session and those not taking part in training will be available for photos throughout the day.
iRadio's Lisa Brady will be broadcasting her weekly iChill programme live from the Sportsground and there will be plenty of giveaways and competitions throughout the day.
The highlight of the day will see fans get the chance to watch a full live training session where the coaches will be hooked up to a PA system enabling fans to hear them issue instructions and orders to the players. This will give supporters a first-hand experience of the rigours of life as a professional rugby player.
This ultimate rugby experience has been organised as part of the 16th Man campaign which was set up to reward the loyalty of Connacht supporters and will be just one of a number of events held throughout the province over the coming weeks which will include player visits to clubs, daily online discussions with players through Facebook, exclusive offers and visits to local businesses.
