It is another jam-packed weekend of fixtures in the Connacht Junior Leagues with a number of crucial clashes at the top and bottom of the four divisions being played this weekend.

It is the penultimate weekend of fixtures in J1A and Ballina, favourites for the title after last week’s win over Connemara, face a tricky trip to third-placed Monivea where they could claim the title of they emerge victorious.

A win may not be enough for Connemara as they host Buccaneers at Monastery Field. Visiting Buccs are on the brink of safety and would confirm their J1A status for next year if they can pull off a shock victory.

Galwegians host mid-table Ballinasloe with a win vital if they are to move away from Basement side NUIG, who aren’t in action this weekend.

The action in J1B kicks off on Saturday night as Ballyhaunis, who are already relegated, host mid-table Creggs.

It’s a three-way battle for top spot with Corinthians, Sligo and Tuam all in the mix for top two with the league winners automatically promoted and the second-placed team facing the team second from bottom in 1A.

Sunday sees Sligo host Corinthians with the winners of that tie moving into the driving seat for the title.

Tuam, who have games in hand, face mid-table Ballinrobe and they will be targeting a bonus-point win.

Loughrea travel to Castlerea still in with a very slim chance of avoiding the relegation play-off.

It is the final week of action in J1C with a repeat of last weekend’s postponed fixtures.

Dunmore and Corrib are neck and neck at the top of the table and will face each other in a play-off for a place in Division 1B later this month. Corrib host basement side Claremorris as Dunmore host Carrick and Portumna face Westport.

It’s a huge weekend in the J2 League with the two semi-finals taking place on Sunday.

OLBC host Ballina with Corinthians travelling to Oughterard as the four sides look to maintain their promotion hopes.
