The Connacht Rugby matchday volunteers at the Munster v Connacht game with Operations Executive Sabena Moylan (centre).

Connacht Rugby held a Volunteer Recognition Day last weekend to thank some of our matchday volunteers for their help throughout the season.

32 volunteers who assist with operations at the Sportsground on matchdays were treated to a day out at the Munster v Connacht Guinness PRO12 clash with the initiative proving a great success.

Pre-match refreshments were arranged at the Shannon RFC Clubhouse before kick-off with the volunteers then taking to the terraces to roar on Connacht in the Interprovincial derby.

Unfortunately, hosts Munster emerged with the victory but that didn’t prove too much of a downer for the lively Connacht contingent who had a very enjoyable day out.

Connacht Rugby would like to thank all our volunteers who make matchdays in the Sportsground a unique experience.

If you are interested in becoming part of our volunteer team, we will be holding a recruitment drive over the summer – stay tuned for further details.
