The Connacht Rugby Club & Community Department held a blitz for 320 primary school students in Corinthians RFC last week.

320 fourth class pupils from Bawnmore, Carnmore, Claddagh, Mervue Boys, Scoil Einde, Oranmore Boys, Brierhill, Merlin, and Bolybeg attended a fantastic day of rugby.

The event was the culmination of an eight-week programme of tag rugby in 14 local national schools introducing new players to the sport.

Connacht Rugby would like to thank Conor Galvin, Matt Henderson, Will Thornton, Charlie Couper, Peter Coyne, Liam Smyth, Gary Lally, Cathal Forde, Evan Kenny, Mark Deegan, Matthew Fitzmaurice, Bryan Casburn Snr, Bryan Casburn Jnr, Frank Shortt, Maeve Deegan, Mike McKenna for their help in co-ordinating and running the event.

A massive thank you also to Corinthians RFC for the use of their facilities and for providing refreshments, and the schools that took part.
