Buccaneers RFCwas the setting for a 4th, 5th and 6th class contact rugby blitz this week. This programme was started some 3 years ago by the Connacht development department and now has four national schools playing the contact form of the game at 4th 5th and 6th class level. Dubarry Park was rocking as boys and girls from each school jousted with their counterparts from the other schools for bragging rights. Some outstanding individual and collective skills were on view and stood as a compliment to the children and the coaching that they have received. Visitig CRO Gavin Foley commented on the high standard of play in the matches he refereed and thought that it bodes well for the future of rugby in the area. Many thanks to Charlie Couper and Conor Galvin who organised and refereed the event.
