With three weeks still remaining until Connacht Rugby’s next home GUINNESS PRO12 game against provincial rivals Munster, ticket sales for the highly anticipated fixture have taken a dramatic leap in the last week.

The first game of 2015 will take place on New Year’s Day with a kick off time of 5pm and the Clan Stand, Main Stand and new Seated Stand are now all SOLD OUT.  With demand set to increase, a decision has been taken to erect additional terracing behind each goal post. This will bring an additional capacity of 1, 200 and there is scope for further increase should demand warrant it.

Connacht Rugby Head of Commercial & Marketing Alex Saul said:

“We knew there was going to be a lot of interest in the Munster clash especially with the team’s unbeaten home record this season but early pre-sales for the fixture have been phenomenal and we’re delighted to be bringing in additional terracing for New Year’s Day. As well as the extra capacity, it allows for an even better atmosphere for our supporters behind the goals and around the entire grounds.”

With the Connacht v Munster derby being one of the most popular fixtures in the rugby calendar, supporters are encouraged to purchase their tickets early to avoid disappointment.

Tickets, starting at €25 for Adults, are currently on sale from tickets.ie, from the Connacht Rugby office and Centra and SuperValu stores province-wide.
