Athlone I.T. will hold a Rugby Screening Day on Friday 4th January 2019 from 2-4pm for those interested in taking one of a number of scholarships at the college in the new academic years.
The screening will take place on the AIT AstroTurf pitch and will include drills and general rugby movement. Following that a short tour of AIT will be held, and concluded with a dinner alongside lecturers and AIT staff where prospective students can discuss college options.
AIT have a long history of rugby. There are currently 3 mens and 1 women’s rugby teams in the college, and in the past they have won 11 Division 1 All-Ireland titles and a host of Freshers and 7s titles. For the 2018/19 academic year 22 rugby scholarships were awarded by the college.
