Following on from Ballina’s impressive win over Galwegians in the last round of the U20 10-aside Series they join Ballinrobe at the top of the leader-board. The U20 10-aside series is run over three Saturday’s in different venues across the province and is intended to provide a link between youth and adult rugby, offering competitive yet entertaining rugby for a demographic that sees a large drop-off in participation numbers._mg_1924111

Speaking after last Saturday’s event in Castlebar Club Support Manager, Lyndon Jones, said:

“We’re delighted to see tournaments like this continue to grow and to be adding new teams at each event shows real progress is being made. The standard of rugby has been great and it’s fabulous to see players in this age-grade mixing and enjoying the event as well as the rugby itself.”

“Whilst creating a fun and social series is important to us, we also wanted to reward the clubs that have been attending each of the events we’ve been allocating tournament points after each weekend. It is fantastic to see how close a contest it has been so far and it’s all to play for going into the final round on the 22nd October.”
