Ballinasloe 12 beat Buccaneers 8

Ballinasloe toiled hard for their second win of the season over Buccaneers in the Under17s beating them 12-8 in their cup contest at home last Sunday.

The locals were slow to get going after a protracted lay-off. Buccaneers were more dynamic in the opening period and led 3-0 at the break Whatever was said over the halftime cuppa worked as the locals emerged rejuvenated and dominant for the remainder. The lively Conor Barrett crossed for a try midway through the half to edge Ballinasloe ahead and when Jack Codyre galloped 50metres to touch down (Ian Duffy successful with the extras) Ballinasloe were on their way.

Buccaneers scored a try of their own in the second half but overall the locals deserved this win.
