The Ballinasloe under-17s lost their first league game undone by Corinthians at home on Sunday.

Following notable wins over Sligo, Connemara and a much-fancied Buccaneers outfit, Ballinasloe found the weekend’s pill a tough one to swallow, especially given they led 5-3 at the halfway mark, Stephen Tierney the scorer. The visitors touched down for the solitary second-half score and secured the win, 8-5. Ballinsloe’s unforced errors and collective impatience the main culprits.
