Ballinrobe RFC U17 team head to France for World Rugby Festival

This coming Easter weekend sees a monumental trip ahead for the Ballinrobe U17 rugby team as they head to Vienne in the South of France to take part in the U17 World Rugby Festival.

Last year there were 100 players from 13 countries across 3 continents playing 120 games. This year is even bigger with 18 countries from 5 continents taking part.

It is the first time a team from Ballinrobe has competed in the event and is sure to be a hugely exciting and unforgettable experience.

The panel comprised players from all around the general locality, not just the town itself and it is testament to the character of the group that they have stuck together since the U10 grade where they started off.

A huge amount of thanks must also go to all the coaches who worked with this group all the way up along.

Ballinrobe U17’s captured the League title in style earlier this season and have also won the Plate Final where they defeated Ballina RFC last monday
