Connacht prop Finlay Bealham has been called up to the Ireland squad ahead of the 2016 6 Nations championship.

24-year-old Bealham, who has featured in every one of Connacht’s 18 games this season, received the news at the weekend that he would replace Leinster’s Marty Moore who sustained a hamstring injury in the Champions Cup game away to Wasps.

Australian-born Bealham whose grandmother is from Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh moved to Ireland five years ago and joined the Connacht Academy in 2012 and graduated to a senior contract ahead of the 2014/15 season.

Playing for Corinthians RFC, he represented Ireland at Under-20’s level in the 2011 U20 6 Nations and World Championship. Last summer, the front rower, who can play on both sides of the scrum, was one of eight Connacht players to travel to Georgia as part of the Emerging Ireland tour.
