Connacht Rugby is delighted to announce its continued commercial partnership with Boston Scientific.

Last year, the biggest employers in the region, Boston Scientific, came on board as a strategic partner of Connacht Rugby.

A key stakeholder within the province, the Ballybrit plant in Galway employs over 2, 500 people and the sponsorship allowed their employees access many of Connacht Rugby’s assets. Last year Connacht Rugby players took part in Boston Scientific fundraising initiatives such as Strictly Come Dancing and a car wash in the Ballybrit plant; whilst employees could avail of discounted tickets and merchandise amongst other benefits.

This season, both Connacht Rugby and Boston Scientific look forward to building on the success of the inaugural year.  The partnership will continue to focus on rewarding the employees at Boston Scientific while exploring further strategic and commercial opportunities.

Head of Marketing & Commercial for Connacht Rugby Alex Saul commented:

“We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with Boston Scientific and its’ employees. To have an innovator and industry leader as well as a local employer supporting the growth of Connacht Rugby is fantastic.

Last year we explored new means of collaboration between ourselves and Boston Scientific away from traditional sponsorship and it has worked extremely well. We look forward to expanding the programme with Boston Scientific in 2014.”

Commenting on the partnership Mike O’Flynn, MD and Vice President of Boston Scientific, Galway added: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to work with Connacht Rugby again this year.  We are looking forward to many shared experiences and opportunities for both teams to work together throughout 2014.”
