Connacht Rugby is delighted to confirm its continued partnership with well-known winemakers Brancott Estate.

The creators of the original Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, Brancott Estate, have come on board as the ‘Official Wine Sponsor’ to Connacht Rugby for a second season.

Brancott Estate was first established as Montana Wines in 1934 and its new name was inspired by the Brancott Vineyard in New Zealand – its original Marlborough vineyard and home.

Commenting on the deal, Niall Beatty, Regional Sales Manager at Irish Distillers Pernod Ricard, said:

“Brancott Estate, creators of the original Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, is proud to announce its continued support for Connacht Rugby as the official wine sponsor of the Connacht Rugby Team for the forthcoming season. The 2013/14 sponsorship of the Connacht Rugby Team will be supported with pitch side advertising, online presence on, match programme advertising as well as promotional support in on-trade outlets in the surrounding areas”.

Head of Commercial at Connacht Rugby Alex Saul added:

“We’re delighted to have Brancott Estate on board with us for another exciting season. As a brand, they share our commitment to excellence and last year’s partnership proved very successful for both parties.  Brancott Estate has a long association with world rugby, and we are proud to continue that tradition.”
