This weekend is set up to be one of the best weekends for sport in the West of Ireland.

On Friday night, Connacht Rugby kick off their drive for Champions Cup qualification with round 1 of the Guinness PRO12 and the visit of Newport Gwent Dragons to the Sportsground for a 7:30pm kick off.

After last weekend’s dramatic clash at Croke Park, Mayo will return for a replay with Dublin in an effort to secure their place in the All Ireland Senior Football Final with defending champions Kerry.

On Sunday, there’s more! We return to Croke Park at 1:15pm for the minor Hurling All Ireland Minor Championship between Galway and Tipperary while the main event sees Galway take on Kilkenny at 3:30pm.

The Connacht Rugby team would like to wish Galway and Mayo all the best in their respective games.

Kick start your bumper weekend of sport with a visit to the Sportsground on Friday night for the opening game of the season. Tickets available here.
