Coach Development Officer (CDO), Connacht Rugby

Connacht Rugby is currently accepting applications for the position of Coach Development Officer (CDO), ideally Forward Specialist, based in Connacht. With responsibility for the delivery of the coach development programme in Connacht, the CDO plays a key role in ensuring the delivery of high quality coaching programmes to clubs, schools and colleges in the province.

Reporting to the Coach Development Manager (CDM) Connacht, the successful applicant will be required to fulfil the following main duties:
•    Deliver coaching programmes in targeted schools and clubs.
•    Be the champion for Long Term Player Development (LTPD) model and deliver initiatives to increase clubs and schools understanding of the model.
•    Deliver IRFU coaching courses within the province from LTPD 1-4.
•    In conjunction with the CDM, co-ordinate the Regional Talent Programme in line with IRFU policy.
•    Work with each club in order to develop a coaching succession plan.

The successful applicant will have:
•    Significant knowledge and understanding of the game of rugby, in particular forward play and the LTPD model.
•    Significant coaching experience at LTPD Stage 3 and/or 4.
•    Excellent communication, organisational and teamwork skills.
•    IRFU / Coaching Ireland tutoring qualification is desirable.
•    A full clean drivers licence.
