Connacht 12-18 Glasgow

In driving wind and rain Connacht picked up a losing bonus point as they were beaten by Glasgow Warriors in front of an attendance of 4,017 fans for Kieran Keane’s first competitive game in charge.

Connacht lead early on after a Jack Carty penalty but Glasgow were level when they landed a penalty minutes later. Connacht had some good attacking phases in the first half and but just couldn’t manage get over the line.

Carty did kick two more penalties before the break as the teams went in 9 points to three in Connacht’s favour. But a six point half time lead wasn’t not enough in the tough conditions.

10 minutes into the second half Glasgow were in for a try and although Jack Carty had a fourth successful kick for a penalty it was not to be Connacht’s night.

After 72 minutes Lee Jones got over for a second Glasgow try which was to prove the final score of the game.
