The Connacht Eagles, sponsored by NUI Galway, were defeated by Jersey RFC by 40 points to 10 at the Sportsground today.

Jersey’s first five tries (four in the first half) were all scored through rolling mauls and the sixth coming from back play and their centre Oliver Evans.

Eagles captain Conor McKeon kicked a first half penalty and it was a huge defensive effort from the home side after the break. With Matthew Cosgrove in the sin bin, replacement Stephen Kerins got over for a late score, converted by Aidan Moynihan who started the move.

The Eagles are away to Jersey RFC next Saturday, December 19th.
