The Connacht Eagles were defeated 32 – 14 by pool leaders Bristol Rugby at the Sportsground this afternoon.

Academy outhalf Conor McKeon kicked 9 points (2 penalties; 1 dropgoal) while scrumhalf John Cooney crossed for a 69th minute try.

The English visitors scored six tries, only one of which was converted, to secure their home quarter final in the British & Irish cup.

Nigel Carolan’s men will be in action again in the New Year when they welcome Leinster ‘A’ to the Sportsground on Thursday January 15th.
