Connacht Branch saddened by news of Richard (Dick) Beamish’s death early Wednesday morning. Dick Beamish was a senior interprovincial referee in the ’70s and ’80s and officiated at many top class games both within and beyond Irish shores.

His contribution to Connacht club and representative rugby was immense, and his absence will be mourned. He is survived by daughters Lynne and Julie.

Our sympathies are with them, and all his former colleagues, his extended family, and friends.
