Connacht Rugby will be hosting a Coaches Clinic on August 26 at Galway Community College in Moneenageisha, Wellpark, Galway (11.30am – 1.30pm).

The event promises to be the single largest coaching event ever run in this province. The Clinic is open to all youth, mini and school coaches but places are limited to 220 individuals. Places will be assigned on a first come first served basis. Places are also limited to one coach per team in each club or school. All attendees will receive a complimentary ticket to join us for the Connacht v Bristol match in the Sportsground after the Coaches Clinic has concluded.

A series of guest speakers will address attendees on a range of coaching topics. These speakers will include Connacht Rugby CEO Willie Ruane and IRFU Head of Coach Development Matthew Wilkie. The event will also include an on-field workshop concentrating on safe tackling. This will allow coaches to gain a TackleSMART certification upon completion of the workshop.

Individual coaches need to register here by 5pm on Wednesday, August 16.

Please note:

– Parking is available on site in Moneenageisha and cars may be left there until the Connacht v Bristol match has ended.

– If any clubs/schools have additional coaches per team who wish to attend then they can email [email protected] directly. These names will be placed on a waiting list in the event of further places becoming available.

– Coaches are required to provide their DOB below so that the TackleSMART certification, which they will receive by completing this clinic, can be added to their profile on the IRFU Clubhouse System.
