The Tuam RFC Mini Girls team before playing a half-time game at the Sportsground last season.

Connacht’s Denis Buckley, Mairead Coyne, Dave Heffernan and Tiernan O’Halloran have taken to the airwaves to encourage young girls and boys to give rugby a try at their local club.

Radio stations across the province have been broadcasting the Give Rugby A Try message from the four Connacht stars.

With the Mini Rugby season now in full flow, our clubs would be delighted to welcome any youngsters to training this weekend.

Playing rugby is a great way to have fun, make new friends and get some exercise.

It doesn’t matter if you have never played the game before, your local club will welcome you with open arms.
