Connacht to play Munster friendly at Thomond Park

Connacht Rugby is pleased to confirm that the pre-season friendly against Munster Rugby will be played at Thomond Park on Friday August 21^st at 7:45pm.

The move to the Limerick venue is to coincide with the World Club 7s also taking place at Thomond Park and in which Connacht will be entering a sevens team for the first time.

Tickets, purchased here, for the World Club 7s tournament that starts at 1pm on Friday will see a Connacht 7s side, made up of senior, Academy and club players, pitted against club sides from all around the world as well as teams made up from Munster, Ulster and Leinster. With that ticket, supporters can then enjoy even more top class rugby with the Munster v Connacht pre-season game on Friday night.

Connacht Rugby Season Ticket holders offer:

Connacht Rugby Season Ticket holders for 2015/16 will be emailed an exclusive link to a special ticket offer for the Limerick World Club 7s. For €60, Season Ticket holders will get two adult tickets that will allow Stand access to the 7s tournament on Friday and Saturday as well as the Munster v Connacht pre-season friendly on Friday night.

This offer will go live on Friday July 10^that 12 noon.

Pre-season Schedule:

The pre-season schedule that includes the visit of Grenoble to the Sportsground on Friday August 7^th will also see Pat Lam’s men travel to the South of France for a five day training camp that will conclude with a game against Top 14 side Castres Olympique in Saint-Affrique on August 14^th. Connacht took part in the Challenge Vaquerin in Lacaune in August 2013, playing Castres in a close game that finished 43-31 in favour of the then French Champions.
