The U18 and U15 Connacht Girls Cup finals will be taking place at the Sportsground on Sunday afternoon. All four clubs are regular visitors to the Sportground at finals time with many of their players wearing Connacht colours at U18 level.

The U15s kick off the day’s action at noon as Ballina and Westport battle it out for provincial glory.

Having finished the league season in second place, Westport will be slight favourites over third-placed Ballina.

Both teams have enjoyed great success in underage rugby and have been involved in finals at U15s and U18s level.

Both clubs have worked hard to build their mini sections in the past which has helped boost their numbers at U15 level.

The U18s follow at 1.30pm in what is expected to be a very tightly contested game between top-of-the-league Westport and second place Ballinasloe. Westport won the Cup last year and Ballinasloe have serious pedigree at this level.

They have won many a title at U15s in the past with a steady steam of players having moved up the ranks to U18s.
