On Saturday, January 21 the Carrick Minis and U13s travelled to nearest neighbours at Creggs for a Blitz festival.

Great numbers turned out and Carrick wishes to thank and congratulate all parents who consistently support the club in carting and cheering young players about the place.

Kick-off commenced at 11 am and Carrick fielded at least one team in every level. The Under13s boasted a great turnout with solid individual performances by all. That said, Carrick?s superior running game was more-than-matched by Creggs’ toughness at the breakdown.

The Under11s had their hands full under serious pressure from the hosts. Carrick, more used to winning these days, fell victim to a stellar Creggs performance marking the day as a learning curve.

The Under10s played two matches drawing their first 6-6, winning their second comfortably – a deservedly great result. Under-nines and eights played two games each with heart, determination, and a smattering of flair and showmanship. Passing and tackling in particular were top class throughout.

Thanks to Creggs for their hospitality and challenging games.

Carrick came away from Creggs wiser and ready for future games.

Our next event is our maiden homeground Blitz festival, February 11, 2012 in Ballinamore. Further details will follow.

Training continues for the next two Saturdays at 10.30am at Leitrim Village Community Field. Contact Aidan on 086 3867960 with any queries.
