Peter Wilkins has worked across many areas of rugby in order to fulfil his ambition of coaching professionally. After leaving the UK, he continued in a Coach Development role in Queensland but rapidly rose to the position of analyst, with Ewen McKenzie's, Queensland Reds. He combined being a Super Rugby analyst by day with coaching club rugby in Brisbane by night. The long hours paid off as he earned the position of skills coach and then defence coach with the Super Rugby franchise.

In 2015, Peter was appointed Defence Coach with Edinburgh Rugby. Over the past two seasons Edinburgh's defence ranking consistently outscored their league position.

Peter was lured to the Sportsground this season, having been on the opposing side to Kieran Keane during his time at the Reds. He highlighted that "the passion and rugby values of the Connacht community" attracted him to the position and this event aims to spread his knowledge through our club and schools coaches.
