Galwegians host Buccaneers at Crowley Park tonight in Division 1B of the Ulster Bank League (7.30pm).

GALWEGIANS (7th) v BUCCANEERS (1st), Crowley Park

Ulster Bank League Season’s Form: Galwegians: LWLLLLLLWL; Buccaneers: LWWWWWWWWD

Ulster Bank League Top Scorers – Galwegians: Points: Aidan Moynihan 44; Tries: Cormac Brennan 6; Buccaneers: Points: Alan Gaughan 86; Tries: Jordan Conroy 8

Galwegians are yet to string back-to-back wins together in the current campaign, and last week’s disappointing 17-14 reversal down at Shannon edged them closer to relegation trouble.

Returning forwards Ronan Loughney, Peter Claffey and Eoghan Masterson gave their pack a stronger look and head coach Brian McClearn will hope to have a decent provincial representation again this week.

Buccaneers, whose lead at the top has been cut to two points, have injury concerns over backs Mata Fifita, Shane Layden and Conor McKeon. But prop Saba Meunargia, the man-of-the-match against Ballymena, should help them win the set piece battle and steer the Pirates to their third triumph of the season against their Connacht rivals.

Recent League Meetings – Friday, January 30, 2015: Galwegians 12 Buccaneers 6, Crowley Park; Friday, November 18, 2016: Buccaneers 24 Galwegians 12, Dubarry Park
