Connacht’s Ultan Dillane is set to miss the next eight to 10 weeks of action as he undergoes surgery for an ongoing shoulder issue.

The powerful ball carrier is a graduate of the NUIG Connacht Rugby Academy and has made 11 appearances for the province this season, the most recent of which came against Benetton Treviso last week.

The 23-year-old was included in Ireland’s Six Nations squad and featured against Scotland and Italy but has been ruled out for the remainder of the tournament.
