With almost 60% of the votes, Connacht lock Ultan Dillane has been awarded the Player of the Month for December 2015, in association with Hartmanns of Galway and Seiko Watches.

The 22-year-old, who graduated to a senior contract after three years in the Connacht Academy, has featured in ten games for Pat Lam this season and started both home games in December against Newcastle and Ulster.

French-born but raised in his mother’s native Kerry, Dillane was today named as one of four uncapped players in Joe Schmidt’s 6 Nations squad. The 6’ 6” lock has previously represented Ireland at both under-18 and u19 level.

Richard Hartmann, Director of Hartmann Jewellers added:

“We have known that Ultan was a great prospect for Connacht for some time and now he is getting recognition at another level in the Ireland squad. Everyone at Hartmanns is delighted for him and really pleased to be able to present him with his first Player of the Month award. I would say it’s the first of many.”
