Big Joe looks to take down Lions

Joe Joyce has been enjoying life at Connacht Rugby so far, however the big man from Bristol wasn't pleased with his last performance against Cardiff which saw him dropped for the game against Scarlets.

Connacht came away from Cardiff winning 16-12, a game where Big Joe was brought off after the 50 minute mark.

"Everyone was saying how good I was in the Bristol game and I took all the praise"

"When you have a bad game you have to take it on the chin which I have"

"I'm looking forward to getting out there again if selected"

"I'm in the game long enough now to know you have bad games but it's a lot easier to take when your team still wins and you see where we are in the table now"

The last two months have been a stop start one for URC teams due to the Six Nations. Now though focus is fully on the club game where Connacht are in the hunt for the play-offs and knockout stages of the Challenge Cup.

"I personally like playing in a rythem of week to week but obvisouly other players may not feel that way"

"It has been a bit of a strange period but the main thing for us is getting those two wins which were so important and have us in good shape heading into this block of games"

It's South African side Lions who come to Galway this Saturday and no doubt in good form after their win over the Sharks in the last round.

"They can cause teams danger with their attack"

"A lot of their attack stats are right up there with any team in the league"

"Defensively though I think we have been very good"

"Physically you know when you take on any South African team you need to be ready and expect a really tough battle"

"This is the first game of their tour away from home so they will be buzzing but at the same time we are as well and each lad can't wait to play in front of that green army"

"The supporters have been savage in each game and give us that extra 10% and that what we expect again, those supporters int he four corners of the ground to really get right behind us'
