EPDOSession_564_292Connacht rugby academy has launched a new initiative which sees the introduction of integrated sessions between skills coach and fitness coaches in the four regional centres with the U17/16/15 development squads. Jim Herring EPDO will be help weekly by Alan Quin in Galway, Michael Horan in Athlone, Paul Ginty in Westport and Paul Murray in Sligo. Their roles will be to improve functional movements, speed and conditioning of the young players. The four coaches attended the IRFU conditioning or Setanta College courses. “It’s great to have the help of the fitness coaches, fitness work from the early stages is crucial for developing better rugby players. I would like thank Des Ryan I.R.F.U. Fitness Education Manager and the Connacht Academy and Domestic Branch for this fantastic initiative” said Jim Herring.
