Free bootcamp session next Wednesday

To help launch Connacht Rugby’s Bootcamp & Conditioning courses TJ Anderson has arranged a free bootcamp session next Wednesday 10th October from 6-7.

Connacht Rugby Bootcamp and Conditioning Classes 

Train like a pro2Connacht Rugby is delighted to announce the arrival of our brand new bootcamp and conditioning classes at the Sportsground. The fitness classes which will be run by Connacht Rugby players Johnny O’Connor and T.J Anderson, will be taking place from the 1st October. Participants will be put through their paces in a series of specially designed classes for people who wish to lose weight, tone up or add some speed, power and strength in our sport specific sessions.  The classes will consist of 24 sessions over 12 weeks and are open to both men and women of all fitness levels.

Speaking about the launch of the fitness programmes Alex Saul, Head of Marketing said “Connacht Rugby has a unique blend of excellent facilities, talent and expertise at our disposal all year around. We wanted to mix this together and create classes and programmes that people of all ages and fitness levels can benefit from. Johnny is the perfect fit to lead these for us and he has designed the courses with T.J”

Participants of the conditioning classes will be treated to a comprehensive training plan by former Ireland International and Connacht Rugby legend, Johnny O’Connor. Classes will include resistance training, cardio-vascular work, an extensive diet plan and a specific program designed for you through individual testing and use of a functional movement screen. All classes will take place at the Sportsground in the Connacht Rugby gym. The sports specific group will require further testing which will involve speed testing with electronic gates, jump height, endurance test and strength test.

Everyone will receive advice and guidance tailored to their specific goals but the overall programme will be similar for everyone. I’m really excited about working with the  groups, I’ve been doing it for the last few years and get a real kick out of helping people achieve their fitness and weight loss goals”.

Connacht Rugby bootcamp has been designed as a fun outdoor training alternative suitable for both men and women of all fitness levels and will be led by Connacht Rugby backrow T.J Anderson.  Classes will be held on the all-weather multipurpose 3G area at Connacht Rugby and there will be a wide range of equipment used to ensure workouts are dynamic, challenging and unique.

The bootcamps will give the trainee an all over body workout; will improve general health, boost aerobic endurance and aid fat loss. Most importantly the bootcamps will have a core objective of teamwork and encouragement will flow from this to allow the trainee to push themselves to maximise their training results.

All participants will also have access to our exclusive youtube channel and a member’s only facebook page that will provide videos & information on stretching, mobility and strength exercises.

The conditioning sessions will begin on the Monday 1st of October and run for 12 weeks for €275, with a maximum of 12 people attending each session.

Bootcamp will begin on Monday 15th of October and will be running for 10 weeks for €150.
